PBL VS. JUST DOING PROJECTS

I was talking to my teenage daughter this afternoon and she said something that I didn’t expect to hear, she said that it was horrible when they had to do projects, and one of the reasons she gave was precisely what was described on the video as the main difference between PBL and just doing projects; she said that after they’ve been going on about the same thing over and over in class, they still had to do a project.
Students need to see a purpose in their learning, they need to make it significant in order to be motivated, and that is exactly what PBL is about, students acquire knowledge to solve real problems instead of being bombarded with information and then trying to figure out how that information has proved to be successful for someone else who had a problem, that is really not inspiring!
